Good news folks, (after Doctor's appt 22 January)
We are Praising God and thanking Him for protection and healing.
Today I’m released from the neck brace and given a clean bill of health.
The Doctors said “be careful and avoid playing rugby” ( I guess that means that Graham Henry will have to get by without me), And……….. “avoid falling on your head”. (I was actually going to try to avoid that anyway J )
But apart from that, it is all systems go.Golf is recommended therapy – so I’ll be forced to take Doctor’s advise on that.
Many grateful thanks for your prayers and kind messages – it is truly a blessing to count you all as friends.
Special thanks go the The Lord. I was advised again by the specialist today that I was “very lucky” to have all functions restored, but I know the truth.
Take a look at Psalm 121. This is, and was, true for me as I lay in the paddock paralyzed, and it is true for you as well.
We serve a mighty God – HE is able and willing to save, and we praise Him.
Angela’s sister Judy continues to improve bit by bit – please keep praying. Looking forward to seeing y’all very soon.
Your friend,
Richard

Latest Update: 7th January 9.00am
Greetings gents from
Auckland
Hospital , Thank you so much for your concern, prayers and visit Hannes - The Lord has been quick to answer.
When I fell I was completely paralyzed for about 10 minutes and sightless for some of that.
However as Angela and Paul my son in law prayed I was gradually able to minutely move things.
From there feeling and pain increased. Was “choppered” to
Auck
Hospital and now able to balance lap top on tummy and send this while in a neck brace and on my back. Had scans which confirm no fractures – on pain killers but have all functions which doc describes as “very unusual’ for such an injury at my age.
I should have a more certain prognoses tomorrow after the MRE scan has been analyzed by the team here, but I believe for full recovery so that I can walk out of here tomorrow. Meanwhile thanks again for all of your prayers and concern. I am praising the Lord for his action on my behalf. Ange and the family send their love and special thanks.
With Blessings
Richard
Updated Urgent Prayer Request: 6th January 4.00pm
Gents, a quick update on the events involving Richard Eames.
Richard was on holiday in the Coromadel when yesterday morning he tripped and fell. He landed very awkward and knocked himself out - actually he was blind and paralysed from the neck down for a short period. His wife was nearby and when realising the gravity of the situation started praying for Richard. Soon after his, his sight returned and he started getting feeling back in his body.. Two ambulances were sent out, but the personnel were not comfortable to transport Richard to hospital, so he was airlifted to Auckland Hospital, where he is undergoing tests. He is currently in the Emergency ward.
Thus far he has had a CT-Scan which revealed a compressed and/or slipped disk (C5 & C6). He is undergoing an MRI scan this afternoon to ascertain the gravity of the injury to establish the course of action to be taken.
Richard is experiencing intense pain in his right shoulder and arm. He described it as the CMN Swordsmen stabbing and turning their white-hot swords into his shoulder and arm....He is currently on Morphine to relieve the pain. Richard reflected that the Doctor was quite surprised that the feeling in his body returned to normal as in most cases involving patients of his age, this is not the case. Richard is truly blessed and no doubt - God has his hand in this incident.
Would you please pray for a complete healing and specifically for pain release.
(Hannes Van Zyl - Swordsmen and 'mate')

“The Maximized Manhood course has been one of the best things we have done for our men and also for our church.
Here are the results in the last six months:
- 50 men completed
- Men now are more active in church life:- in creche, hospitality areas, serving areas etc.
- Church attendance by men has increased
- Men are discipling other men
- Ladies are reporting positive changes in the home
- Consistent thinking amongst the men about attitudes and behaviour which allows men to encourage each other.
- Has opened the door to allow men to talk about issues and attitudes before they become sin.”
Chris - Maxman Attendee
“When there is omission in my life, whether it be not praying with and for my wife. Not listening to my wife or children, not loving them as Christ has loved me, not repenting of sin, not admitting to sin in my life. Denial of things that are wrong in my life. This stops God from helping me to be all I can be, in Him – a Maximized Man.”
Colin - Maxman Attendee
“When my children were young I chastised them in anger, mentally and physically. This was about 30 years ago, and I was an alcoholic. To this day I have carried this sin with me. “Forgive me for being an alcoholic and acting like I did when you were at home” (P.54). This really touched my heart, so I prayed about it and the Lord told me to go to them individually and ask their forgiveness. There are nine of them. (5 boys and 4 girls).”
Neil - Maxman Attendee
“Too often at my work a person may be bad mouthed by another, and often it would appear the person deserves such criticism – but it does nothing to maintaining working relationships. I could do far more in the peace making role instead of being the distant observer. Knowing to do good and not doing it is a lost opportunity to bring Christ into the situation.”
